The PREEMIE CARE Project:
Welcome!
The Preemie Care Project is a project that is close to my
heart. It is one that my husband and I are all to acquainted
with. You see my husband and I gave birth to a preemie,
actually he was referred to as a "micro" preemie in some
text books. Our son was born at 24 weeks gestation,
weighed 450 grams "1 pound" and was 10.5 inches in
length. After spending fours months in the N.I.C.U.
(Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) we were finally able to take
our son home. It was a tumultuous roller coaster ride
during our time there. However, it was worth it all to have
the "blessing" we named Christian! Christian is doing
better than anyone predicted or expected.
Having a child at six months did not afford us a baby
shower before our son was born. Thus, how The PREEMIE
C.A.R.E Project was birthed. The "care" in The PREEMIE
C.A.R.E Project stands for:
